What is
GPS?[x]This is the central theme of Southern Baptist’s North
American evangelism initiative through the year 2020. GPS stands for God’s Plan
for Sharing. The vision of this initiative is to inspire and encourage Southern
Baptists to fulfill the Great Commission in North America by the year 2020.
This initiative guides churches to build their ministries around four biblical
markers: Praying, Equipping, Sowing, and Harvesting.
This initiative will be identified in many ways: - God’s Plan for Sharing
- God’s Plan for Sharing (GPS)
- GPS
- God’s Plan for Sharing: Every Believer Sharing, Every Person Hearing by
2020
- God’s Plan for Sharing (GPS): Every Believer Sharing, Every Person Hearing

| Who can
participate in GPS?[x]GPS is the evangelism initiative of Southern Baptists through the year 2020.
We invite other evangelical churches with like beliefs to participate. Our
vision for this object is to fulfill Christ’s Great Commission in North America
by 2020. If this is your passion then you are welcome to be a part of this
movement of God. | What resources are available now for GPS?[x]The great thing about God’s Plan for Sharing (GPS) is that
it is not a product driven evangelism initiative. GPS is built around four
biblical markers (Praying, Equipping, Sowing, and Harvesting) and gives each
church the freedom to select the best resources that fit their particular
context. The North American Mission Board (NAMB) does produce several products
that it recommends for GPS, however, they are not required, but rather,
suggested resources. Visit the Resource section of this web site for a
comprehensive list of products that will help you implement GPS. | Can I recommend
a resource for GPS?[x]Absolutely! However, keep in mind that this resource must be
in alignment with the beliefs of Southern Baptists. If you have a resource to
recommend, click on the Contact tab and send us an email. We will need to know
the following items: - The name of the resource
- A brief description of the resource
- A statement of how this resource will help the vision of GPS
- Ordering information
Allow us at least two weeks to evaluate the resource. If beneficial to this
initiative, we will add it to the list of resources. | | Who can I

| | How does GPS
differ from NEI?[x]NEI stands for National Evangelism Initiative. This was the
initial generic title for the initiative now known as GPS. Before a central
theme was developed this evangelism emphasis was commonly referred to as
NEI.
Now that the central theme of GPS has been established, the title National
Evangelism Initiative (NEI) is no longer used. This initiative is now solely
referred to as God’s Plan for Sharing (GPS). | What is Across
North America?[x]GPS will have a special evangelism campaign every two years
beginning in 2010. The special evangelism campaign for 2010 is called Across
North America. This campaign will take place through the Easter season of 2010
and is comprised of four steps: - A three-week targeted media saturation prior to Easter (TV, Radio,
Billboards, Newspapers, etc.)
- Participating churches prayerwalking their communities
- Participating churches saturating their community with a clear bag
containing the gospel (Find It Here tract), a church brochure, and an
invitation to Easter services
- Participating churches will conduct a five-week follow-up process
Clear bags, Find It Here tracts, and all media resources will be available
through Baptist state convention offices. An Across North America
Implementation Guide for pastors and associations will be available through
state convention offices and as a free downloadable document in the Across
North America section of this web site. | How is my
personal registration information used?[x]Your registration information is held in strict
confidentiality and will not be given to or shared with anyone. Only the
Plan-it webmaster may access your information only at your request to assist
you with any problems or issues.
In Plan-it, you will have the option to provide the North American Mission
Board with summary data about activities or events such as the numbers
attending, professions or faith, baptisms as a result of your events, etc. This
information is only provided by you and the North American Mission Board will
not have access to any of this data unless you specify.
In Plan-it, you will have the opportunity to post information on a National
Calendar that anyone who has access to Plan-it may see. For instance, if you
have an upcoming event or activity that you want others to know, you will be
prompted to provide the necessary contact information so that other churches
and ministries may receive from you more information about the event or
activity.
In Plan-it, you will also have an opportunity to provide planning templates
that other churches may use for events and activities. For instance, if you
have developed an event that you feel that other churches may be interested in,
you can provide that template and contact information if you choose. All
templates will be approved by the North American Mission Board before being
posted and provide to other Plan-it registrants.
For more information, go to the Plan-it Tutorial. | Why do I have
to register for Plan-it?[x]Plan-it is powerful web-planning calendar. Each ministry

the registration form completely to insure that each entry into the calendar is
protected and only accessible by you or someone you designate.
Your password and ministry code provides protection and creates a secure
